The pages of the history of this unique small dog was mapped out in paintings of the most famous painters like Tizian, Veronese, Clouet, Tintoret, Verocchio etc.. This breed has been a favourite of the aristrocracy and a companion of man for centuries which shows in his character. For example, this breeds engages regulary in tests of inteligence and is in the top ten list. The French king Henry III. was denounced for bankrupting of the king treasury for the reason that he purchased these beautiful dogs which the price he had to pay was property. Papillons were a favorite of the king of Sun Louis XIV, Madamme de Pompadour and Marie Antoinette – her devoted small dog went with her to the guillotine. During the time of the reign of Louis XIV and his descendents every court kept these small continental spaniels. From this he developed the live symbol of the monarchy. As the downfall and demise of this monarchy the popularity of this little dog also declined. Until the end of the nineteenth and the begining of the twentieth century they began to reappear. This little dog born from the paintbrush of Tizian was used on creation of the standard on 1934 in Lille. His modern history is written in a period after the second world war, when his magic character and gorgeous looks made him again a favourite. Papillon is a small dog. His size is to 28 cm on withers and with weight separated in our country in two categories: from 1.5 to 2.5 and from 2.5 to 5 kgs. In my opinion the weight near 3 kg is ideal along with a propotional balance of the body. Papillons live in very good condition till 16 or more ages. His gorgeous hair, has antistres effects as same as the touch of his warm little body, has its natural beauty. His upkeep and care is unbelievably simple. The Papillon‘s character is defined by confidence in man, by his need to cooperate and by his well known subtlety. He doesnt respond to screaming or severity. His education should be based on positive stimulations. Our little friend is living to give us joy and pleasure. The Papillon is not a breed for big kennels even though he is very content in the companion of other papillons, his peers are not enough for him. His felicity is directly proportional to intimacy of his relationship with humans whose presence for him is a necessity. He is not a desolater of our home equipment because to pass over fragile objects is for him easy due to the centuries of living in the commonplace. The education of your puppy is short. Your papillon will accompany you without problems on your trips to the mountains or laze with you on the couch. He will be happy to share with you the joys of his live. He is characterized by nobiting, playfulness, attachment to his master and by joviality by which he will infect everybody around him. His representatives are the also successful in a new developing sport – agillity as same as in canisterapy. We bought our first papillon for a friend and companion in agillity for my dauhter. But after unexpected success at the shows and after recognition of his wonderful character, we were completely addicted to this breed and decided do some breeding. Our kennel is the homey type and owns a few little papillons, our puppies have been very successful at the shows and they have become champions! Only a few things could give me such pleasant feelings like the view of Papillons playing and romping. I wish that you all also enjoy this feeling. I hope you will like my site and you will enjoy watching our little papillons. If you want you can write to us. We will reply. Martina Janikova,IREMIR kennel. |
